Born and raised in South Los Angeles, I began practicing yoga over 10 years ago with Power Yoga by Adrienne Reed. I would practice alone at home because most yoga studios I visited in Los Angeles made me feel un-welcomed and very out of place. Being black and larger bodied was something I did not see represented in the western yoga world. I began to look into the real practice of yoga thus starting me on me journey within. Stumbling upon The Tree South LA about 4 years ago was like coming home. Bringing yoga into my community has been a wonderful experience. I Love to witness the awakening in a student when they realize the practice Yoga is not about working up a sweat it is more about working up a path for life. I am honored to be a part of this journey for so many. Yoga restores me both physically and mentally. This healing practice allows me to be continuously available and open to my clients, community and my family. I practice to renew my spirit and silence myself inwardly. Yoga allows for awareness of myself and others, I gain a level of intuitiveness that helps me navigate toxic stress and environments with a light heart and open mind.
