For hundreds of years, Indigenous genocide and oppression has been denied and overlooked. Only recently, have the challenges that face our indigenous sisters and brothers become more visible as non-traditional news outlets, indie films and social media have brought the indigenous struggle to mainstream consciousness. It is crucial that we help amplify their voices, spread their message and keep traditions alive. Join us for a conversation with our Community Open Mic co-host Peace Activator Tisha Marina Bernard. We will discuss her Indigenous and Latinx roots and her experience on the front lines advancing causes such as: water protection, immigration reform and anti-bullying policies. Bring your music, lyrics, poetry and stories to honor and give shout outs to our indigenous brothers and sisters. You can also bring something related to activism, diversity, marginalized people or bring something non-related that you want to share in community! Bring your music, lyrics, poetry and stories to honor our indigenous brothers and sisters, bring something related to activism, diversity, marginalized people or bring something non-related  -  to share in community!
