Do I need to bring a mat?

If you have a mat please bring it, if not, we got you covered. We offer community mats for FREE for our students.

I am not flexible, can I still practice yoga?

Yoga is for EVERY Body. You don’t need to be flexible, young, or small bodied. Our classes are for all people.

How do donations work for classes and workshops?

We offer all our classes and workshops by donation. We often offer a suggested donation, however folks pay what they can. You can make your donation via MindBody, Venmo, Cash, or Check.

Do I have to pre-register?

We welcome registration and walk-ins. You can register for class via MindBody or just drop in.

Is there parking?

We have FREE street parking all along 83rd St.

Is Yoga a religion?

Yoga is a technology that is used for wellness. It only compliments any set of spiritual or religious beliefs by allowing space to care for the ‘temple’ and slow down the mind. Prayer is the way we speak to God, mindfulness is the way we listen to God.

Do you have a changing room?

We have restroom for changing.

Are kids allowed?

We love our young ones! Young folks are welcome to join parents or guardians for class as long as they can participate with the class and not disrupt the other students.

What do I need to bring?

Wear comfy clothes that you can move in. We practice without shoes and water is available.

Who owns The Tree?

The Tree is a non-profit 501c3 organization. No person owns the Tree, it is managed by the Board of Directors and Staff.

Is The Studio Black Owned?

As a non-profit we have no owner. However, we are a safe place for persons of color and train leaders of color and offer equity both to our community and the leaders.
